Apostle spoons originated in the early fifteenth century in Europe and symbolise the last supper of Christ with the 12 Apostles. They were particularly popular in England and Germany, and in Outlander (Season 2, Episode 3) Jamie Fraser gave a set to Claire.
Made in England these three Apostle silver-plated vintage teaspoons show signs of wear and are tarnished with a lovely patina. The silver plate has also worn away on parts of each teaspoon.
Each spoon is marked "Made in England"
Dimensions
- Length 13cm
- Diameter (across largest section of spoon) 2.5cm
Please note: These teaspoons are vintage, pre-loved items and come with imperfections as part of their charm, and any marks and signs of wear are part of buying vintage or second-hand items. Silver-plated and EPNS items come tarnished, (sometimes with worn off silver-plate) adding a unique patina to each item. Tarnished Silver-Plated items are more interesting to photograph and are more appealing to stylists to use as props. These can be cleaned using cleaning products from the supermarket or hardware store.
To avoid disappointment, PLEASE DON'T purchase this item expecting "as-new" condition, these spoons are in used vintage condition. There may also be a slight colour cast on photos depending on the screen they are being viewed on.
